About the Company
Through the appointment of Xin Peng Wang in September 2003 the BALLETT DORTMUND has been evolved in a dance company with a distinctive artistic profile. Furthermore, the Westphalian metropolis of Dortmund itself changed from a dance affinity municipality into a hub of artistic dance.
In addition to diverse programs and full-length works by Xin Peng Wang, the company also offers an exclusive dance evening each year: BALLETT DORTMUND has already presented The Nutcracker to the music of Peter I. Tchaikovsky in the imaginative interpretation of Benjamin Millepied, Alice with live music by Mauro Bigonzetti and currently A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Alexander Ekman.
In the season 2023/2024 the company celebrates its 20th anniversary.
